Farlight 84 initially captured the mobile gaming community by storm, offering an energetic, fast-paced battle royale experience that stood out in a crowded market. Players instantly fell in love with its smooth mechanics, vibrant world, and unique high-octane movement system. However, the developers began a frustrating cycle of pulling the game offline and delisting it from the Google Play Store to push massive update revamps. Instead of polishing the experience that players already loved, each relaunch seemed to move the game further away from its original magic.
The turning point for many dedicated fans came when the developers inexplicably stripped away the universal jetpack mechanics. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the jetpacks; they were the core defining feature that gave the game its verticality and distinct identity. Removing them gutted the fast-paced gameplay, turning dynamic firefights into a slow, boots-on-the-ground grind. This update alienated the core community, leaving players wondering why the developers dismantled the exact feature that made the title special in the first place.
After facing intense backlash from the fanbase, the development team eventually brought movement options back into the fold, but the damage was already done. The reworked jetpack mechanics felt stripped down, clunky, and nowhere near as responsive or enjoyable as the original design. Rather than restoring the thrill of early updates, the return of jetpacks felt like a watered-down compromise that satisfied no one. Each major rework promised improvements, yet every return to the digital storefront left the game in a progressively worse state than before.
For those of us who logged countless hours from the very beginning, watching Farlight 84 lose its vision has been a deeply disappointing journey. The game
had immense potential to rival the top battle royales on the market if the developers had simply built upon their solid initial foundation. Dedicated fans still hold out hope that the development team will listen to player feedback and return to the fast, fun gameplay that made us fall in love with the title. Until then, we are left remembering what Farlight 84 used to be before the endless cycle of updates stripped away its core soul.
"Our goal has always been to provide a battle royale experience that is fast, accessible, yet deeply tactical. We listen intently to our community to balance chaotic fun with competitive integrity."
GRIIIM MAGAZINE 📰 some words from the CEO Dusable Lewis Jr
The jetpack gameplay is what made the game really stand out along with some other cool features that were at the start of the game like the electricity system… if you know you know.
Farlight84 really had the most interesting movement and got rid of the jetpacks, they had the best vehicles ever seen… they they got rid of those, they had a few other awesome mechanics and got rid of those as well.
In my opinion they 100% have corporate espionage going on at the company and there is somebody secretly benefiting from taking the game down. This makes absolutely no sense and I think further investigation is required.
