Claressa Shields is one of the most accomplished boxers of her generation.Born in Flint, Michigan,she discovered boxing at a young age and went on to become an Olympic champion and an important figure in women's boxing
Shields began boxing when she was just 11 years old.Her interest in the sport grew after learning about boxers Laila Ali.Despite facing difficulties while growing up, she remained to pursue her dreams and worked hard to develop her skills.
Her biggest break through came at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, where she won a gold medal in boxing at only 17 years old.She returned to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and successfully won another gold medal.This made her the first American boxer, female or male,to win Olympic gold at two consecutive Olympic Games.
After her Olympic success, Shields continued her carrier in professional boxing and became a world champion in multiple weight divisions. Her achievements have helped bring more attention to women's boxing and have inspired many young athletes.
